BBI is an organization dedicated to education and youth basketball.  BBI has three programs:  Spring and summer travel basketball, SAT/ACT college test prep, and mentoring.

Spring and Summer Travel Basketball

BBI will provide a spring and summer travel basketball club with the mission of attaining maximum basketball exposure for student-athletes in our program.  BBI will develop and train athletes, combined with the education programs, assist the student-athletes in getting a college basketball scholarship.  BBI will prepare our student-athletes to perform at a high level.  BBI will have a positive impact on our community by providing exceptional basketball & life skills instruction as a means to inspire, educate, & guide them towards being a better student-athlete and person.  Maximum basketball exposure will be achieved by traveling to major state and national tournaments.  The same programs will be expanded into the Bahamas.

SAT/ACT College Test Prep

Beyond Basketball will be providing preparation for the SAT & ACT college tests through a partnership with MaxTheTest.com.  MaxTheTest.com, a very successful test prep program, has a long track record of success, was founded and is operated by Bob “The Wizard” Alexander and his wife Dr. Sharon Alexander of Ft. Pierce, FL.  Bob and Sharon have helped hundreds of student-athletes and thousands of other students improve their test scores for college entrance.  Dr. Sharon Alexander is a widely acclaimed college admissions coach, and serves on the advisory committee for the College Board, which administers the SAT test.  They have helped students obtain admissions to colleges of their choice throughout the United States.  Nine students came through their program and have gone on to play in the NBA.

Mentoring

BBI will also provide a mentoring program that will reward students with field trips to universities, trips to ball games, etc, for great achievement in school.  This program will help the students who are referred to the program that are having issues in school or home life.  The aim of this program is to develop mind and body, not just the athlete.  BBI will strive to improve the recreational basketball, or lack of, opportunities in the Tampa Bay area, so that BBI can bring the recreational basketball past into the present and secure the future of recreational basketball.  BBI’s desire is to make the recreational basketball experience as rewarding & productive as possible.  Through hard work and commitment, BBI will continue to develop recreational basketball programs, camps, tournaments, and leagues.

Goals

BBI is preparing for the upcoming travel basketball season which starts in March 2015.  There will be 3 teams with a total of 36 players ages 15-18 and nine adult coaches.  We need to raise money for uniforms, lodging, transportation, flights, etc.  Any contributions you can make to help us achieve this goal will be greatly appreciated.
